About Us
In the Beginning:
Luella Stables is family run by Nicole Selman and her father, Karl Sauerbrey. We opened in the summer of 2003. Over the years we have added many services in order to serve all the counties equestrian needs. Our farm is a boarding facility. We offer western riding. The trail rides are very inexpensive because we want all families, small and large, to experience these amazing animals. Nicole organizes horse camps throughout the year for ages seven and up; boys and girls are welcome. The length of these camps depend on level of riding and the season. Nicole is happy to haul multiple horses for lead line riding at school festivals, church events etc... Private parties are available at the farm but we do not attend home parties. Please explore the site to learn.
A little about our instructor
Nicole Selman has been riding horses for seventeen years. She has more than ten years of experience barrel racing and many years of experience with hunter jumper horses. She has a taste of experience with reiners and western pleasure horses too. Nicole believes all disciplines can teach you something. After years of breaking and training countless colts and older horses she still believes every horse will teach you something new. No human could learn all there is to know about horses. Nicole has been teaching lessons for more than ten years. She actually started teaching lessons with her mom, Jennifer McInvale. Jennifer taught more than 40 students per week at Country Day Farm in McDonough while Nicole was growing up. It was a great opportunity for Nicole to grow up watching and helping teach children. When her father, Karl, opened the 62 acre horse farm in McDonough, Nicole was around thirteen years old. She quickly gained her own small business of teaching beginner lessons and it grew from there. Nicole feels students are much like horses. They are all different. Every student teaches her a new way and a new outlook to help others reach their best ability.
